Semi-Finalist International Songwriting Competition 2024
I’m an emerging music artist, and my debut album, A Time For Change, is starting to gain a little momentum—especially with the recent news that my song “Promise Me” was selected as a semi-finalist in the 2024 International Songwriting Competition (ISC). The ISC is one of the largest annual songwriting contests in the world, with thousands of entries across genres and a panel of respected artists and industry professionals serving as judges.
“Promise Me” is one of the most personal tracks I’ve written. It’s a pledge of unconditional love to my children, and in it, I ask that they reflect that love by living with strength, compassion, and determination. I wrote it from the heart, and I’m grateful that its message connected with people enough to earn this recognition.
Also honored in this year’s ISC was Carly Zimmerman of Mesquite, Texas, who won the unsigned category with her acoustic song “Quarter Back”—a clever and moving piece that stood out with its wordplay and emotional depth.
This summer, I released the short video for “Promise Me,” which adds a visual element to the story behind the song. It’s another step in building my catalog and reaching new listeners as I continue on this journey.
Check out the “Promise Me” video and follow along as I keep growing, learning, and sharing music.
